This animation visually interprets a 20 second segment of a jazz song through abstract shape and color. I was inspired by a vintage Don Byas record cover and its playful forms, choosing to take elements from the record cover and bring those compositions to life. The motion responds to changes in tempo and instruments, allowing the patterns to pulse, stretch, and shift with the music. Each segment was created independently and later combined with other student animations to form a single piece, a collaborative visual experience that transforms sound into movement.
